WYAR-FM 88.3 is licensed to and operated by The Heritage Radio Society, Inc., a 501-C3 non-profit corporation with an educational mission.
While our charter prohibits us from selling advertising, an important component of our fundraising is commercial underwriting, where we are allowed to publicize your business on-air as a supporter of the Voice of the Heritage Radio Society, WYAR. You may select the time(s) of day and day(s) of the week you wish your announcement to air. The cost varies with the size of the contractual commitment and the scheduled air time, but for a budgetary estimate use $10 per announcement.
For a number of reasons, including a renewed interest in the music of The Great American Songbook and the continual rediscovery of the enduring legends of the early and mid 20th century, WYAR’s audience defies the usual limits of age, gender, income, and educational demographics. WYAR’s listenership represents a true cross section of the community: business people, retirees, high school/college students, and residents of the area young and old. These are the people who will hear your message throughout most of Cumberland County, as well as portions of York, Androscoggin, Lincoln, and Sagadahoc Counties, the most heavily populated area in Maine.
